GREAT AGM TURNOUT
We were delighted to report a turnout of 48 people to our recent AGM. This shows great support for the efforts of the
committee in keeping our estate looking great. Most of the previous committee were remaining on for a further year,
and were therefore re-elected, along with three new members. Accounts for 2009 were provided to the attendees, and
questions were invited from the floor.
TAKING IN CHARGE OF ESTATE
The issue of the taking in charge of the estate was also discussed at length. It was explained that we will be pursuing
the taking in charge by means of a request from the residents, which will require the support of the residents, and will
result in the process being complete during the last quarter of 2010. We will circulate a petition and make our official
submission to Kildare County Council, but all the indications are that this will be processed this year. This will be of
huge benefit to us, as the upkeep of our drains, footpaths, trees, roads, etc., will become the responsibility of Kildare
County Council. We will still be responsible for the upkeep of our green areas for the long term future.
LEVY COLLECTION
It was agreed at the AGM to hold the existing levy at €100 per house, in light of the continuing economic difficulties.
This levy amount has been the same for numerous years, and, whilst we fully appreciate the times we are living in
today, we feel that this is a very reasonable utility cost, which keeps our estate looking at its best, which can only help
the value of our houses, even in the current climate.
Collections will begin from Wednesday 31st March 2010 and we would greatly appreciate it if you could have the
payment ready, in cash or cheque, for when the volunteer collector calls.
ALL LEVY PAYMENTS RECEIVED BEFORE THE END OF APRIL WILL BE ENTERED
INTO A DRAW FOR A €100 STATOIL FUEL VOUCHER

PARKING IS STILL A MAJOR CONCERN
It was requested at the AGM, that we mention the issue of double parking particularly in Abbey Court and The Grove,
where cars parking opposite each other are causing obstruction to other vehicles passing and would completely block
the path of emergency services, in the event of fire or ambulance being required. We understand the difficulty in
finding space but in some cases cars are being parked on the street, despite the driveway being empty. Please take full
consideration of your neighbours and general safety when parking.
GARDENING
It was requested by one resident that we mention the issue of trimming or pruning of shrubs in your neighbour’s
garden. If your neighbours plants or flowers are encroaching into your garden, we would suggest briefly mentioning
this to them, prior to proceeding to cut or prune them. This prevents any misunderstandings and maintains a general
respect for each other’s property.
BREAK INS
There have been numerous Break-Ins in Celbridge over the past months, Please be extra vigilant with the security measures in your house and always arm the alarm whether you are in or out as several happened while the residents were inside.
